I Found An Art — And A Marsupial Skin
I found this ebonized ironwood bust at the Value Village last week. I can’t pretend it’s a valuable find. I just like sculpture and I like the fact that this face reminds me of Yoshitomo Nara illustrations.
I also found a wallaby or small kangaroo skin in a “free” box on the sidewalk. I have identified the fur based on a childhood recollection of getting a kangaroo fur coin purse from some relatives that were visiting from Australia.
