All New Review: Clairol Root Touch Up

Hardly a new product, but I’ve never used Clairol Root Touch Up before. However, being a procrastinator and all, I failed to secure the services of my colourist before the holiday rush. And my hair was looking really awkward. I had nothing to lose.

Actually my colourist had recommended the Root touch up last summer when I knew I was going to be our of town and would therefore have trouble getting into the salon. While he never said that it would work as well as a salon treatment, it would help blend in the colour with the roots where it mattered — along the hairline and the part. I didn’t try it then, but I tried it now.

In a nutshell, its easy to use. The box advertises 10 minute results but the instructions advise leaving the formula on for 15 minutes for stubborn silver strands. Also, there is only enough formula to colour the hairline and part. As a lazy person, this is a plus. So I did the bits that needed doing and left it in for 15 minutes. It worked as advertised and has held up well for a week now.

When I was researching Root Touch Up on the interwebs, I read a lot of negative reviews — mostly from people who I think were expecting transformative results. But realistically, if you just want something to make your dye job last one more week (or two), then this is the product for you.
