Year View Mirror: Watches

All week long, I’ll be counting down my favourite finds by category. Today it’s watches.

Coming in at number 3 is the Curtiss watch pictured above. Don’t know anything about Curtiss and the watch itself is a bit of a beater, but it keeps great time and I dig it’s deco applied numbers, the square “eater” sub seconds dial and, of course, its rectangular shape. It came in a big box of watches that I bought at an auction.

Number 2 is the Baume & Mercier pendant watch pictured above. I always wanted a nice shpherical pendant watch and this one is a honey. I got in a watch lot I won on eBay.

By far the best watch I found this year was this 1940s Zenith, which I got at the St. Lawrence Antique Market for $5. Finding a Zenith was definitely on my “To-Do” list. It took a while to find the right band for it, but as soon as I did, I wore it constantly.
