Do Over: Fetish Necklace

Here is a fixie I’ve been meaning to do for a while now. THe ingredients: One heishi carved fox fetish necklace in a sorry state of repair (string stretched out and some damaged or missing foxes); one too-small bird fetish necklace; several strands of heishi discs; and a turquoise nugget bracelet.

I wanted to make a multiple strand necklace but it took me a while to assemble multiple fetish necklaces. In fact I never found more than two, so I cheated the third strand by using turquoise nuggets as stations instead of animals.

I’m pleased with the result, have received many complements and even a request or two to make some. Unfortunately I consider this more of a restoration project…I don;t want to get into the business of making fake first nations stuff.
