Wrist Action

I bought a lot of vintage character watches on eBay last month. I was after a vintage Smurf watch for a friend, but I have become enamoured by three other cheap and cheerful timepieces that came in the lot.

I like this Pepsi bottle cap watch because it reminds me of the bottle cap necklaces I was making (gotta get back on that train). It came without a strap so I set it on this old woven strap that I had lying around. It was pretty worn in one side so I unstitched it from the buckle so I could turn it around.

And because I can’t resist a Mickey Mouse watch, I got this Lorus up and running again. It’s very elegant what with its cabochon crown gold dial!

And because I can’t resist anything Peanuts, I also put a fresh battery in this Armitron Schroeder timepiece. Fun watches for the win!

Since we’re talking wrist candy, I will also share these photos of some recent bracelet acquisitions. I found this sterling silver evil eye bracelet at the National Thrift for two bucks about a month ago. I immediately broke II because I didn’t follow my own advice to never sleep with jewelry on. I finally got around to fixing it this morning.

Here are two brutalist copper cuffs that I picked up on separate occasions. They were both under $3 (a rarity for thrift store finds these days) and I like the way they look together. Copper jewelry is often touted as a way reduce inflammation in the joints. I want that to be true!
