Mane Stuff

I like having long hair. I do not like when it touches my face. Dry winter air and hat head further complicates my follicular choices. So I find myself impulse shopping hair ties, barrettes and hair bands. My most recent purchase was a set of spirally elastics. I bought them because I had my hair in two braids and discovered that one of the ties had fallen out, probably pulled off when removing one of the ten thousand layers I was wearing on that wintry day.

I’m also a fan of puffy headbands. They were on sale for like 97 cents each at Old Navy post Boxing Day so I bought five. Then I got hooked on the reality competition series “The Traitors” and saw Pavarti Shallow wearing a selection of them and although I like her, I don’t know how I feel about these headbands anymore.

I picked up these 1990s-ish plastic barrettes at a dusty old convenience store in Cottage Country. These snap on clips are also great for keeping strands off my face. I’m pretty sure the moles for these models have been around since the 1960s, I like how they zhuzhed them up with Memphis-y colours and geometric patterns. I like the colour schemes on all of these accessories.
