Beady Eyed: Smokey Quartz, Amethyst and Jadeite Necklaces

Once I had a lovely green graduated jadeite necklace. For some reason I stopped wearing it (probably because I have too much jewelry) so I sold it. I immediately regretted it. These kind of necklaces were once plentiful and cheap in Chinatown (probably because they are fake or dyed or something is off about them), but now they are rare and expensive. I finally found one (not quite as great as the old one tho’ – the beads are smaller and there’s a rather abrupt change in the graduation) last Friday night. I snapped it up anyway.

I should sell everything and only buy back the things that I miss. Speaking of which, here are some other semiprecious gemstone necklaces that I would probably regret losing: a 1930s graduated amethyst necklace and a rope of smokey quartz beads that I made by combining two different broken necklaces.
