Do Over: Wedding and Engagement Rings

I made my own wedding and engagement rings (pictured above). I made the wedding ring first, back when I was taking silversmithing classes. It is a wax casting set with one teeny diamond. I sculpted it into an uneven oval and melted down various bits of scrap gold that I had lying about.

The engagement ring was made out of an Edwardian diamond stickpin I found at the Value Village and an old ring mount that I had found at another Value Village. My original plan was to have the diamond taken out of the stick pin and reset in the ring, but I felt kind of guilty about destroying the fine milligrain work on the setting. My jewellery suggested just attaching the tie pin mount directly to the stone setting. I think it looks pretty boss.
