Midweek Modness: Abstract Hooked Rug
I’ve always wanted a handmade hooked rug. I appreciate their sturdiness as well as the hours of labour that must go into each little carpet. And I admire the Resourcefulness of the happy hookers themselves — using up bits of scrap yarn and fabric as their materials. I’ve not got one before now because: 1. The designs are usually a little too flowery to go with our décor, and; 2. They are usually out of my price range. But this weekend, I found this abstract model at the annual Trinity Bellwoods Yard Sale. And it only cost $5.
