Brass in Pocket: N. Robert Hunter Case Pocket Watch

This eleborately decorated full hunter pocket watch came in the same lot as my Baume et Mercier pendant watch. It’s an interesting design — very Victorian (probably Victorian revival though), but machine stamped. A pretty watch, but not a valuable watch. I think it would make a nice pendant.

Whenever I find pieces with birds on them, I wonder if future generations will look back on our etsy-era and think we were as overly sentimental and overly attached to knick knackery as the Victorians were. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go rinse out my antimacassars.
