Le Must de Catena

I’ve had a hankering for watch acquisitions again. I have a whole bunch of timepieces on my to get list and a Cartier tank ranks near the top. In fact my first vintage watch was a mechanical knockoff by Timex that I bought at a yard sale in high school.

And so the cycle of not being able to pull the trigger on purchasing a real Le Must de Cartier and buying Cartier-like vintage pieces and then selling said homages began. Here’s my most recent faux Cartier — a gold-plated Catena. It’s a handsome watch but needs some attention. It works but it looks like some water got in the mechanism as the winding stem is rusty.
