My Makeup Wishlist

A long, long time ago, I got a cosmetics consultation by Laura Mercier. It was the best makeup advice I ever got. Despite my pasty complexion, she recommended berry-toned lipsticks and caramel coloured eyeshadows. And now that I’m all about adopting a smokey-eyed à lá française look, I thought I’d check out Mercier’s 2011 Holiday collection. The best bargain is the Limited Edition Luxe Colour Portfolio palette. At $98, it’s a little pricey, but it also has almost every thing you need to create a nice, smouldering makeup: Cake eyeliners that work wet or dry; Sheer, 2 Second Skin Cheek Colours, and array of eyeshadows to take you from day to night.

The only thing it lacks is lipcolour. For that I’m tempted to try out Stila’s Acai Crush Lip and Cheek Stain ($24).
