Vintage 1977 Jewellery Ads

At last Thursday’s Vintage Crawl Toronto at Mrs. Huizenga‘s, I was perusing through a stack of Vogues from 1977 as well as other vintage publications. I snapped some pictures of the jewellery ads for future reference and thought I’d share. Pardon the crummy iPhone quality photos.

Above: Although it’s from 1977, most of the ads in this magazine were clearly still influenced by YSL Ballet Russes collection — including this Monet ad.

Above: Speaking of ballet, this Birks ad was from the pages of a National Ballet program. I forgot to note the exact year of the publication, but guessing from the Breakfast at Tiffany‘s era Audrey Hepburnesque styling, I’d guess it’s from the late 1950s or early ’60s.
