Midweek Modness: APB Taxco Sterling Abstract Brooch

Lots of San Francisco thrift shop finds to report on, starting with this 1950s crushed turquoise and lapis brooch. It is signed A.P.B. Sterling Taxco — a mark I’ve come across before but can’t find any biographical information about. The abstract design reminds me of sharks, for some reason. And with its rounded triangle shape… well, things don’t get much more mid-century looking than this pin.
