Charming Drunks
I don’t think there was ever a time when people though alcoholism was a good lifestyle choice, but in the 1950s and 1960s, it seemed like being tipsy was cute and comical. Like Dean Martin of Foster Brooks on TV talk shows. Another example is this charm bracelet that I found that is somewhat dedicated to drinking. Two charms feature lightpost hugging drunks. One has a naked lady in a champagne glass. Assuming that men did not wear charm bracelets, I am unable to conjour up an image the kind of lady who would assemble a bracelet bedazzled with such figurals. Oh wait! There’s a Drama and Tragedy mask charm. Must’ve been a theatrical sort.
