Midweek Modness: Time Traveler
I can finally talk about the top-secret project that took me to Dresden last December. I teamed up with Glashütte Original to make a movie about one of my favourite vintage finds: A GUB ladies wristwatch. I was one of a group of journalists, composers and collectors who made short films sharing their stories about Glashütte Original. You can watch my film, Time Traveler by clicking the link above.
I am so grateful to Glashütte Original for giving me an opportunity to share my story. I’m a research nerd and the company also helped me explore their archives. They even found an original catalog featuring my watch and a contemporary presentation box to house it.
I was also able to visit the Watch Museum in the town of Glashütte and the Glashütte Original Restoration centre. The five films premiered at the Berlinale and Mr. Andrew and myself were fortunate enough to attend the screenings and to take in some of the cinematic madness of the Festival — we even got to walk a red carpet. But more on that tomorrow…
