Watches I Want
Of course it’s impossible to come back from Baselworld without wanting to bring back a watch. Especially since I lost my new Rolex there (long story for another post).
Like last year, I really wanted to come home with a Gucci. And, as I was able to procure a vintage version of the acrylic Gucci watch, I sort of did.
And I will also take an Hermès Cape Cod please — the one with the orange strap and diamond-ringed case please. But my new, old Jaeger LeCoultre Etrier (originally made for Hermès) is so similar that the Cape Cod will have to wait.
For two years running, getting a Nomos Glashütte has been on my checklist. The problem is that I can’t decide which one to buy. Obviously budget (or lack thereof) is a deciding factor. The Club Campus is reasonably priced, and I love the design — especially the mix of Roman and Arabic numbers.
But these guys are also very nice. And so is this one. Why are there so many beautiful watches and why can;t I have them all?
PS. I sort of got a Nomos — They gave out these cool leather watch=shaped luggage tags at the Press Day cocktail party.
