Too Much Time On My Hands

I was in New York last week for work. I was chatting with a colleague who had a malachite patterned manicure. I mentioned that Fossil had a ring watch that had a faux-malachite dial. I knew because I had been eyeing it for a while. But given the fact that I had just bought a Fossil ring watch last fall and I was saving up to get any number of other watches, it remained on my wish list.
Anyway, one thing led to another and I ended up ordering said timepiece.

Then, upon my return to Toronto, I found this beautiful, brutalist wrist watch at the Value Village. It says Kalm in the dial. Some light Googling revealed that the brand was located in Bienne, registered as Guanillon & Cie. but traded under the name KULM Watch Company. It’s keeping good time and it’s only condition issue so far is a bit of verdigris around the edge of the dial.
Then I broke a tooth, and my discretionary funds must now be directed to dentistry. Meaning that this watch acquisition frolic must sadly come to an end and a watch selling era must begin. Unless I find $500 lying on the ground, and then I’m totally buying myself a Blancpain X Swatch 50 Fathoms.
