Birthday Party
I went to KW to celebrate my birthday with my family. It was a lovely visit and I got to see almost everyone. It was also pretty low-key, which for me is the most stress-free way to mark the passage of time. I’m also ambivalent about gifts. I love giving people things all year round but I feel weird about getting stuff. So my nephew Samms made me Pho for dinner and my niece Sarah took me on an afternoon of hanging out with the grand nieces. It was gorgeous weather so my sister Bobbi and my mom went for a lovely walk.
There were some great gifts as well. Sarah brought me a fancy donut and great niece Chloe presented me with a pine cone. My nephew Keith gave me some Jeezy-esque shoes. And my sister Kim found me an amazing vintage watch.
It’s an automatic Gruen in working order. Its UFO case shape is very reminiscent of the Omega Dynamic. But it might be even better because the blue dial has a marbled effect. It dates from 1971. How do I know? Because it’s inscribed on the back.
