A couple of weekends ago Mr. Andrew and I went on an overnight to Buffalo with our friends Elizabeth and Craig. Our last stop before heading home was Trader Joes. I had seen a lot of positive reviews of their barh and body products so I picked up a few. Here’s my mini reviews.

Shampoo Bar: I’m trying to cut down on plastics in almost every aspect of my existence (except for shoes — i’m a sucker for Croslite). That includes shampoo bottles. Because bar shampoo is concentrated, it’s hard to know just how much to use. And it doesn’t lather so it’s hard t ascertain if your hair is still dirty or just weighed down by excessive product. The last shampoo seemed to be closer to the mark. I am commited to using the bar up before i give up.

2. Microdermabrasion Scrub: Haven’t tried it yet as I am waiting to use up my current exfoliant.

3. Enrich Moisturizing Lotion. So far so good. Feels light and cooling going on and after almost two weeks I swear my skin feels softer and glowier.

4. Vanilla Lip Mask: This is the product I was most interested in trying out and it did not disappoint. It’s just a lip balm (don’t know where the “mask” part comes from but it it is working hard — I’ve also rubbed the excess on my cuticles to prevent hang nails. Smells good too. Between the moisturizer and the mask I feel my skin looks rejuvenated.
