Summer Broke

It’s been awhile. There are many reasons I haven’t posted in a while. The main thing is that WordPress has reconfigured the way it works and I don’t like it. I guess I’m officially and old now because I don’t find it intuitive at all. And when something feels like a chore, I just don’t want to do it anymore.
I’ve also had two summer colds in the last month. And I broke my big toe at a Puerto Rican street festival in Jersey City last weekend. I’ve been mostly housebound which makes it feel like I don’t have a lot to write about. But I did find this cool Czech art glass bow bracelet at Shoney’s—one of my favourite spots for hidden treasure in Kensington Market.

And we went to the Guggenheim when we were in New York. I bought a lenticular post card of a Nick Cave Sound Suit (suitable for framing).

We went to the Guggenheim to see the Jenny Holzer show (the installation in the lobby was worth the price of admission but the rest of the exhibit was middling—like they didn’t have enough art to fill the space). I bought this eraser as a souvenir.

I also left the house to buy these new old stock tiny watch straps for my tiny watches. The only problem is that I like the packaging so much that I want to keep them on their cards.
