Good Byes

Thinking about the future of what this blog should be about. As previously mentioned, it has been slouching toward being a place where I inventory my finds. But because I’m trying to bring less things into the house that wouldn’t leave me with much to write about. So today I thought I’d talk about things that are leaving the wardrobe rotation. Starting with this ruffle-sleeved white T-shirt.

This top was a thrift shop find. I love a sleeve detail because it creates the illusion that I have actual shoulders. I have plenty in black. They are a wardrobe staple. But I wanted one in white to wear under things like this Dickie. And it worked well for a while but the problem is that I can’t keep white clothes clean. I drop food on them. They show pit stains and ring around the collar. They turn a dingey grey. The Internet offers many solutions but they never work for me. I should really just put on my do not buy list, alongside polyester and clothes without pockets.

The top is not going into the trash. When the warm weather comes back I will dye it in an attempt to give it a third life.

And in case you were wondering, this photo is from an Bulova/Citizen/Accutron/Frederique Constant event I attended last fall.
