Dolls! Dolls! Dolls!

The month of July was full of severe weather alerts. It was either unbearably hot or the air was unbreathable thanks to pollution from far away forest fires. As a result, I took to finding ways to get my steps in inside. And what better place to walk around than a thrift shop?

During my ambles I picked up a few new celebrity dolls for my collection. I found a LeBron James — or should I say a FauxBron? It looks like the King James model from Mattel’s Kenbassador series but more than a few things are off and the doll itself is unsigned. It doesn’t bother me that much that he’s not authentic—the figure only cost $10 and my plan is not to have it sit in its box on a shelf as an investment but rather to star in my long planned but unrealized celebrity doll TikTok.

I also found a naked Posh Spice and a small bag full of Rainbow High doll clothes. The clothes seem to fit well enough.

I also picked up this non-famous Barbie for her cool early ‘89s jumpsuit and polka dot tulle top. Maybe I will finally commit to making my super star celebrity Tik Tok show — the reason I started accumulating these dolls in the first place.
