More Scarf Magic
Why do I keep buying vintage scarves? Like this Laura Ashley floral print number I picked up last week. I certainly don’t need any more scarves, but I can’t resist them.
As I was walking past the bookstore near work, I noticed this big coffee table book: Scarves by Nicky Albrechtsen and Fola Solanke. It was comforting to know that I am not alone in my scarf addiction.
There’s a textile woman who always does the Christie and Aberfoyle shows whom I inevitably buy from. As I flipped through her display of scarves looking for the one that spoke to me, she pointed out that they’re the greatest thing to collect because they take up so little room, can be so varied in colour, pattern, size and material, and because they can be worn OR displayed. I thanked her for justifying my mania.
