Hell Bent For Leather Jewellery
I’ve decided to evolve my hot matron look and make it a little less English and a lot more French. I call this new direction “L’Equestrienne.”
Leather jewellery wasn’t really on my radar but lately I’ve been digging the way it looks. It has a rough, handwrought quality that really works with my horsey set feeling. Above, I tried out a braided leather strap on a 1940s-era Curtiss watch. Below, an sterling and leather, no doubt Hermès-inspired “bit” bracelet and necklace (I’ve been wearing the necklace wrapped around my wrist). The pair together were $4.
And finally, another leather flower brooch that I found at the VV. It’s stamped “Hinterland.” I think it would look on a riding jacket or maybe a hat.
