Sidewalk Find: Mannequins
Last week I found two bust forms or mannequins outside of Doc’s Leathers on Queen St. W. I brought them home because I thought they would be good for photographing jewelry on. I was right. This sterling silver and pink rhinestone leaf necklace (I bought it for $2 at Antique World outside of Buffalo many, many years ago) has always been unphotographable because it never looked right just lying flat on a table, or hanging from hooks. It needed some shape behind it to bring it to life in pictures. It needed the shape of a ripped plastic torso from a biker shop!
Here’s another pretty deco-era necklace shot on Manny the mannequin.

You lucky gal! I got rid of my two body forms from the Bombay Company (stupidly) when I left Toronto – now I am regretting it as they’d be great for blogging and show and tell!
