Jewels of Tuscany Part II
A little less jet lagged today, but still pretty beat after the non-stop excitement of the last two weeks (New York! Kitchener! Italy! The Junction Flea!). So only one post today.
I couldn’t go to Italy without trying to find some vintage jewellery, could I? Although our trip was mostly focussed around eating, looking at architecture and swimming (and most shops were closed for siesta in the sweltering hot afternoons), I did manage to visit one shop in Siena. It was called Saena Vetus and it was a tiny boite that was well stocked in antique and vintage jewels, walking sticks and accessories. I was hoping to bring back an example of a traditional Italian tourist bauble: Coral, cameos, micro mosaics, etc., but I had a very limited souvenir budget. I found a couple of new old stock pairs of coral earrings (pictured above) for my sisters and this horse head charm (symbolizing the Palio) for my travel charm bracelet.

Would love the Palio pony charm. Went in 2012 and didn’t find a Palio charm while there. I live in the US and don’t speak Italian, so I’m not sure how to procure one of these. Help?
