Know Where Your Scarf Is

The crazy hot and humid weather has subsided a bit (for now), but I wanted to share one more heat beating must-have: The cotton scarf. They can serve so many functions. In Italy I used the ikat-printed sqaure pictured above to dab my sweaty brow, protect my shoulders from sunburn, camouflage spots of ragu sauce that appeared during one of our many feasts and cover my immodest bare shoulders in certain churches. It could also be used a sarong coming back from the pool and a head wrap when my hair got a little crazy.
