Not THrift Jewels

In 2012 I got some grail pieces, some new things and some unexpectedly cool things that cost more than $36. Take a look at them now:
1. Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace. I won this necklace in an online auction. The high end estimate seemed ridiculously low for this kind of piece, but some times low estimates are just there to lure you in. But I bid a low amount and I won. This necklace is so beautiful that I could probably sell everything else I own and still be happy.
2. Marni for H&M Jewellery. I was so excited about the Marni collaboration with H&M. I especially wanted some of the jewellery pieces. Thanks to my friend Sonya, who tipped me off to a press shopping preview, I was able to acquire many of the pieces that I wanted, even though it was still a bit of a fight.
3. Art Deco Cherry Amber Necklace. I won this necklace in a lot at a Waddington’s Auction. Another grail piece.
4. Laura Vogel New York Multistrand Bracelet. My birthday present from Mr. Andrew!

5. Edwardian Ruby and Diamond Bangle. I’ve had gold-filled and paste versions of these bracelets before, but I wanted the real thing. Especially since the price of gold and precious jewels has jumped so high, many of these beauties are being melted down for scrap. This was another auction win.
6. Diamond Earrings. I traded up on some smaller diamond studs and a ring with tinier stones. I would like to trade up to bigger rocks one day.
