Year View Mirror: Top Timepieces of 2012

Because I was in a state of downsizing my watch collection (and because 2010 and 2011 were such amazing years for finding watch treasures), this list pretty much represents most of the watches I got this year:
1. Ladies Eternamatic Cocktail Watch. A real workhorse of my watch wardrobe. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ve got to find a better band for this baby.
2. Ladies Omega Cocktail Watch. My first thrift find (ten bucks) of 2012 and one of the best. Alas, I had too many of this type of watch so I traded it.
3. Mens Art Deco Certina. I got this watch and the Eternamatic in the same $20 bag o’ watches. I love the stepped case and although the dial is a little dirty, it still has a sleek machine age feel to it.
4. Bradley Oscar the Grouch Character Watch. I can’t resist a character watch, even when they are cheaply made, don’t run and you have to pay extra moolah to have them cleaned and serviced. And of all the Sesame Street Muppets, I can relate to Oscar the best.
5. Seiko “UFO” Chronograph. A real grail watch for me. I won it in an auction lot. My god, it is glorious!
