Sidewalk Find: Dooney & Bourke Cross Body Bag

So Mr. Andrew and I and our friend Ned were walking through the Lower East Side the Thursday night before last when I spotted a classic tan and black cross body bag. A closer look revealed the familiar Dooney & Bourke duck logo. I swept it up and took it back to the hotel with me. Upon full examination I discovered that it was indeed an authentic D&B All Weather Leather bag.

Do0ney and Bourke is a high end brand that is popular amongst the horsey set. The company started in 1975 by making belts and branched into handbags in 1981. Their signature bridle leather contrast bags like this one are also popular again. Even though it’s not a luxury label, I’ve seen these sacks pull a pretty penny at upscale vintage shops and on eBay. I too, love the crossbody bags and I love this particular purse because it was: a). Free; and b). Had about $2.50 in change in it.
