Pinecones

Let’s end Austerity April with nature’s ornament: the pine cone. I love pinecones and still rue the day that I forgot my collection of oversized Tuscan specimens in Italy. I found these slightly smaller conifer jewels whilst visiting my parents. So I placed them on a hand painted porcelain tray from the 1920s depicting a woodland scene and made a little centrepiece for my folks. Price: eternal vigilance for taking care of our mother Earth (but dollar-wise, free)
