Talking About The Weather

To balance put my complaints about the heat, I will sing the praises of my weather station. When I was growing up, it seemed like everybody had a barometer/thermometer thingy in their house. IN my recollection, n one ever consulted it. Nor did they know how to set it. So when we finally got a house, I decided that we needed a weather station of our own. I actually amassed a collection of them before settling on this colonial-style number, with barometer, thermometer and hygrometer.

I know that the thermometer works, and that it is 80°F in my office (down four degrees since Wednesday).I hope the barometer is broken because it is not predicting a break in this god forsaken heat wave.
