Fisherman Friend

For most of the month, I’ve been trying to avoid shopping because I’m planning on repainting and redecorating in November and that requires the deacquisition of stuff. I did find this folk art fisherman for my dad’s collection.

This piece is unsigned, but it’s fairly typical of the east coast carvings. I like that he’s painted too. Next time I go home, my dad is going to start teaching me how to whittle.
