Don’t Get Too Comfortable

As promised, here’s how I turned my sidewalk find puppy needlepoint into pillow art.

First I found it.

Then I cut it off the pillowcase that it was attached to and stitched it to a cushion cover that I had purchased for another, unrealized project.

This didn’t feel finished enough so I added a second, roughly embroidered border.

Still didn’t feel finished so I chain stitched on an aphorism that I used in another art project that I’m working on (and have been working on for five years — I really need to finish things). The words are “Let’s Die Alone Together.” Along with my snake pillows, I’m calling these cushions my “Don’t Get Too Comfortable” collection. I may still add a border of pom pons.
