Hello Dolly

I always peruse the toy section of the Value Village as I have a vague plan for an art project that involves amassing celebrity dolls. So far I have collected four out of five Spice Girls (still desperately seeking Baby), Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (plus a spare that I call Elizabeth), Dana Scully, Justin Bieber, and Jim Kook from BTS.

I also already have a Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana but yesterday I found another version. One where the scalp turns around to change the hair colour from brunette to blonde!

I’m slightly obsessed with toys that transform. I have a Tiffany Taylor fashion doll that operates under a similar wig reveal. This one’s not quite as successful because the brown locks are shorter and wavier than the super straight blond half. Still fun though!

Miley/Hannah came without clothes but I found this appropriately millennial ensemble at the Dollarama. They were also selling this emo Ken. I brought him home too because he has rooted hair. I cannot abide a molded hair doll.
