Recycling Aluminium

I’m broke and busy because I had to get some dental work done and I had to hustle for money because I blew my nest egg on replacing our washer, dryer and dishwasher last month. An aside: we did buy previously enjoyed appliances because we try to get secondhand when we can. It’s less expensive, better for the environment and these newfangled contraptions all come with useless things like wifi. And when electronic nonsense goes wrong, it makes it harder to repair should something go wrong.

Our garlic press also went kaput. This is big because we use a lot of garlic in our cooking. So I hit the thrifts in search of a replacement. I found this aluminum model which is technically a combination press and olive pitter. I also found this cool made-in-Canada aluminum ewer. Mr. Andrew often reminisces about a water pitcher that used to sit on the counter of his favourite coffee shop. I never saw it myself but thought maybe this one was like that one so I bought it for him for his birthday.

Turns out that it isn’t the same but he likes it anyway. Stay hydrated everyone!
