Accessorize

Trying to recharge my existing looks with accessories. Starting with scarves. I have drawers full of kerchiefs and stoles but that never stops me from buying more. Because you can wear them in so many ways to dress up an outfit or just hide your hair or neck when you aren’t feeling so confident in those areas. I got this floral printed cotton bandana in Chinatown on the weekend.

And I picked up this hand-printed, made in India scarf at a yard sale two weekends ago. You can never go wrong with pinky colours around you face. It gives you a glow.

Videos by musicians Louis Cole keep popping up on our YouTube algorithm. I really liked the basic black styling in this particular clip. I had a particularly nostalgic feeling for the cotton slip on shoes — a mainstay of my youthful wardrobe. We were meeting friends for dinner in Chinatown so I picked up a pair (plus the bandana) beforehand.

A sidebar: I was very pleased with myself for wearing a white dress to a dumpling restaurant and not getting covered in sauces.

And speaking of white, here’s a picture of actor Jeremy Strong at the Met Gala, wearing an ivory suit embellished with big flowers. I’ve been incorporating more oversized corsages into my styling. In fact, I bought a blue and black ombré rose at the Value Village last week.

Here it is enhancing the neckline of this simple t-shirt dress.
