Doll Parts: The Boys

I am way behind in doll posting. As you know, I’ve been amassing a small army of celebrity dolls. My most recent acquisitions are a Britney Spears, a Joe Jonas (as his Camp Rock character) and a Zac Efron (in his high school role).

My preferred method of sourcing celebrity dolls is to trawl through Value Villages. Which means they come barely dressed and usually sans chaussures. Joe here had a tank top. That is all.
(I’d also like to add that celebrity dolls generally don’t look very much like the actors or musicians that inspired them but Joe here takes the cake in this category. I had to search many eBay auctions to ascertain that this is what the figurine in its original box really went out in the world looking like this.)

The other new addition is this Zac Efron from High School Musical. At least he came with trousers and a top. Like Joe, Zac had no shoes. While I was able to find footwear for all of my lady dolls (a dollar store was selling blister packs full of feminine boots, pumps, and sneakers), I’ve never seen solo boy shoes for sale.

Fortunately, the Value Village where I found Zac was also selling bags of doll clothes, so I was able to outfit him with this keen “Supreme”-influenced hoodie (I kitted Joe out in some Ken clothes that I found earlier in my doll stylist days.

Last week, when I was en route to KW to visit my mother, I stopped into Dollarama to get some snacks for the train. In the toy section I noticed a bunch of Hot Wheels x Tony Hawk finger boards. These mini decks also came with small latex skate shoes that clipped onto the boards. I decided to buy three to see if they would fit my barefoot boys (I also have a three BTS members that are sharing one pair of boots.
