Flea Market Watches

I got to hit some flea markets last weekend. And while my budget was very limited I still managed to score some cool timepieces (and one lovely lucite bangle). The teeny tiny Enicar came from a road trip to the Aberfoyle Antique market with my friend Jessica. It works but is running fast. I shall attempt to regulate it this evening. Sidebar: I have super fond memories of going to Aberfoyle with my parents when I was a kid. They were very indulgent of my coin and doll collecting hobbies and would make the drive out so that I could buy pennies and my sister could get hippie jewelry.

The day before I was in New York for work but got up extra early so I could check out the Chelsea Flea. I visited the table of a woman who had fun watches and costume jewelry but also good stories. She is friends with Miriam Haskell designer Larry Vrba and has a similar passion for plastic accessories so I learned a few things along the way. I bought this cute ice cube like charm watch bracelet (the chain is aluminum) and a clear peach juice bangle (to add to my collection of other peach-toned bracelets).

The charm bracelet watch needed a clasp upgrade but is a runner. She also threw in this vintage pendant watch with a Peking glass Buddha decoration for free (apologies for the terrible photo)! It’s working but is missing its crystal. I thought I had a spare but the one I have is slightly too big. Grrrr. Hopefully I can find a donor tomorrow when I go thrifting with my friend Sarah.
