More Rings

This past week I went on a thrifting frenzy. First with my friend Sarah on Tuesday. Then with my mother and sister on Friday. I got so much treasure that I’m gonna break it down into separate posts. Today, I want to show you my new rings. Pictured above is an antique link ring. It is hallmarked Chester and assayed at 9ct, but it lacks the usual date stamp so I can’t say with certainty when it was made or if it’s even really gold. But it looks late 19th/early 20th century to me.

I found it at the Mennonite Central Committee shop. I got the engraved silver ring at the same place. I would also date this ring to the early 20th century.

The skull ring is from my collection. I had forgotten that I even had it because I’d been using it as a scarf ring so it had been packed away with my foulards and échappes. I’ve recently been reading about vintage Mexican Biker rings and have been keeping my eyes peeled for an example. This one is probably just a cheap 1970s homage, but it gives off a menacing vibe.
