Want It All

The entire city is caught up in World Series fever and I, for one, am happy to jump on the bandwagon. On my recent thrift trips, I’ve been seeking out Blue Jays merch. So is everyone else in Toronto, so the pickings are slim and the expensive. Still, I got lucky out in the ‘burbs. Above is a Jays windbreaker and Jackie Robinson day T-shirt. Both have little logos so you’ll have to look carefully.

Last Friday I was taking my mom to pick up her new hearing aids at Costco (a great deal if you are in need of auditory assistance, by the way) and we popped into the nearby Value Village where I found this heavily logoed hoodie. It features the 2004 to 2011 “tough bird” Blue Jays logo. It was only $10! I think it was overlooked because people have forgotten this design. Or else they just prefer the more cartoony logo. Anyway, repeated patterns were very popular in the aughties (think circa 2004 Billionaire Boys Club). And to top it all off, the bird heads are glittery!

Just to prove that I’m not a total bandwagon we, here is my collection of local sports team wrist watches.

And here’s me in a vintage Blue Jays visor—perfect for letting my top knot shine through.
