Lost And Found

I lose things a lot. But most of the time, a kind soul reunites me with my things. Like, someone turned in the vintage Bally bag I left on the GO Train a couple of weeks ago. Inside the Bally was my TimBeibs bum bag, which I left on a train in Switzerland almost four years ago. It has been lost and recovered twice! I posted this feel good story on Instagram and Amy, a woman whose acquaintance I made when she found my Chanel card holder in the street in New York, suggested that I should invest in a tracking tag.

Here’s another feel good story from an otherwise no good, terrible week. Last spring, I had some terrific cleaners come in to do a deep clean. In advance of the service I did a lot of tidying. Because of the combined reorganization, it took a couple of days for me to locate everything. Well, almost everything. It took me until last Monday to find two Mexican blankets and my David Blackwood collector plate.

The blankets were under a bunch of throw pillows on our chaise lounge. The chaise was one of the cat’s beds so we never use it. But I was feeling sad about our kitty and just felt like sitting there.

And the plate I found later that evening. Over the years, I have received a lifetime supply of gift candles. So many that I forgot that our credenza is half filled with them. We finally finished one votive so I went to get a freshy from the stashy. The plate was lying on top of them.
