More Irish: Irish Horn Rosary and Connemara Marble Bracelet
More Irishness: Another Commemara Marble souvenir piece. This time it’s a shamrock themed bracelet that I found at the St. Lawrence Market last Sunday. I also found this very old Irish Horn Rosary there (unfortunately the cross and some of the beads are broken). These rosaries were made of cowhorn and date back to the 1800s, although most were produced in the ’40s and ’50s. I think this one, because it has a metal crucifix, is a little older than the mid-century models, which normally featured plastic Jesuses.
