Do Over: Mod Money Necklace
I found this necklace at the VV. I’m guessing its a 1970s-era artisan (or artisan influenced) piece because of the hard ware and the fact that it had blue ceramic cabachons set in round, brutalist panels.
Or it used to have blue ceramic cabachons — all but one had fallen out. That’s a problem with a lot of artisan jewellery from the ’70s — those crafty hippies had an eye for design, but the just glued pinbacks and stones on. Lazy hippies. But I digress.
I couldn’t help but notice that the settings for the stones were the same size as a penny, so I amassed a collection of one cent coins, each with a different profile of HRH Elizabeth II. And yes, I glued them in.
