1000th Post! A Day Off In The Life
Hey everybody! This is my 1000th post! I will celebrate with a self indulgent story.
A couple of weeks ago I had a day off and decided to cross a a bunch of chores off my list: I had to get my blood changed; I needed pirate accessories for a comedy show; and I wanted to visit the Estonians to sell some broken silver jewellery for scrap. As the Estonians and Ontario Specialty Company (a fine, old timey novelty shop) are both on Church Street, I decided to stay in one part of town and go to the Blood Services clinic at King & University instead of my usual College & University location.
Because the price of gold is so high, I was also thinking of scrapping the bracelet pictured above. I realized that I had never properly recorded it, so I took the above picture of it whilst waiting for a train on the subway platform.
I went to the blood clinic first. They asked, “Have you ever been to this clinic before?” I said, no. The asked, “Is this your first time giving blood?” and I said, “No, I usually go to the College Street clinic.” The asked why I switched, and I said, “Well I needed to get some pirate gear and pawn some silver, and this place was in the neighbourhood.” And yet they still let me donate.
And everybody at the clinic complemented my ring/bracelet combo so much, that I ended up not scrapping these pieces. Because I am a sucker for flattery.

congratulations on your 100th blog entry. you should be very proud. i enjoying checking in regularly and am always impressed by your vast knowledge of jewellery and antiques.
