Under the Sea Influence

I crave proximity to the ocean. But I’m here in Toronto, so the Lake Ontario will have to due for now. Maybe the siren song of the sea is what caused me to buy these anchor-print socks at the Gap (that and they were on sale). The will go well with some of my other maritime-influences accessories, like the Charlotte Ronson for Uniqlo top I got last fall in NYC (I’ve been wearing it as a skirt).

The maratime look is very popular in fashion and in décor. The best thing is that you probably already have some seas-worthy pieces in your closet already. For example, I’ve brought the legendary canvas and rope handled “This Is Not A Plastic Bag” tote by Anya Hindmarch back out of the closet.

And to finish it all off, a collection of sea-inspired charms hung from a silver bracelet.
