August Birthstone: Peri Dos and Peridots
If August is your birthday, then peridot is your birthstone. Fun fact: it is one of the rare gemstones that manifests itself in only one color (see above). It has been around forever and is said that Cleopatra’s emeralds were actually peridots. Legend says that peridot was one of the favorite gemstones of Cleopatra and that some of the “emeralds” worn by her were actually peridot.
In folklore, it is said to bring luck, peace, and success.
