Last Week in Feet
If you ever need new shoes but can’t afford to buy any, go down to the club district on a Saturday night. You will find all manner footwear, cast off and abandoned by very drunk girls. I even spotted this pair of comfy moccasins sitting forlornly on the sidewalk. I left them there to await a woman of less discriminating taste. I did bring home this pair of Sperry Topsiders because I did need new sensible shoes and couldn’t afford to buy any. Then, after a cheque came in, I also purchased this pair shiny navy blue of faux Birkenstocks at the Giant Tiger. I wonder what this says about our economy that a pair of well made shoes are so devalued that people just leave them on the side of the road and/or that the market is flooded with cheap knock-offs?
And finally, my niece Sydney tells me that not only is wearing socks with sandals a trend, it’s also cool to wear mismatched patterned socks. It could be a trick, but I kind of like the look.
