Midweek Modness: Aitkens Pewter Abstract Pendant

I found this groovy medallion at the Salvation Army last Thursday. I nabbed it because it had a Scandinavian, Sten & Laine Finnfeelings kind of vibe. When I turned it over i discovered it is a Canadian made piece, marked Aitkens Pewter. I little light Googling revealed that Aitkens is based in Fredericton, NB and has been a going concern since 1972. The company was founded by a 17-year-old named Martin Aitken. While most of the Aitkens designs I could find online had Celtic and maritime motifs, this pendant is distinctly mod.

I should really send him an email and ask about the company and this piece in particular.
